IT Project Manager – PMO & Strategic Initiatives

Concurrently manage 6-10 Information Systems (IS) projects at medical centers in the West Region relating to new construction/renovations, software, and new clinical technologies.

·              Manage project budgets up to $850K that include equipment, cabling, and software costs.

·              Participate in construction design reviews and coordinate activities between Core Infrastructure, Network, Telecom, Field Services, Applications, and Procurement groups.

·              Perform discovery with customers, Biomed, and Apps teams to develop scope and solutions.

Amtrak, Washington, DC 2008-2013

Implementation Project Manager (Regional Coordinator Production Systems)

Led implementation projects at eight east coast facilities which included infrastructure, equipment, configuration, and training of over 1,000 Mechanical Department employees. Provided adaptive planning for multiple projects, often delivering early with reliable results.

·              Performed site visits and arranged installation of network, wireless AP, time clocks and thin clients. Configured system for each location, trained users, and tracked progress of rollouts.

·              Facilitated change management initiatives for new department processes.

·              Served as a core member and SME on cross functional process teams. Increased locomotive reliability by guiding the transition to new Continuous Maintenance (CM) program, starting with pilot HHP-8 locomotives. Led WMS sub-projects within CM.

Transportation Manager (Terminal Trainmaster)

Directed day-to-day operations from the main tower and at three outlying rail yards. Responded to rail incidents such as derailments, injuries, and rule violations resulting in system disruptions.

·              Supervised over 100 union employees. Maintained on-time performance by directing yard crews, train movements, and industry switchers. Utilized TYES and Mainframe systems to monitor movements and process rail/intermodal cars.

·              Monitored crew conformance with operating rules and reported via FRA mandated rule checks. Disciplined employees and developed corrective action plans.

·              Restored normal operations by working with Track, Signal, Mechanical, and Dispatch Departments to quickly investigate and remedy derailments and other rail incidents.
